ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Martin McMahon, the creator and maintainer of WWW.TULOK.NET and co-creator of WWW.TULOK.COM, is a single 34-year old Pisces with four cats who is probably spending way too much time on the Internet, especially now that he has two domains. Martin recently worked for a network telecommunications company based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but was laid off just three weeks before Christmas (can you say 'bitter'?). He has since become employed at MCI WorldCom. It is also easy to see that Martin enjoys doing biographies about himself in the third person.

ABOUT :

This site originally debuted as "Trivial Trivia" on America OnLine on 16 November 1996. Prior to that I had been e-mailing a fact or two a day to a few people at work. A billing problem with AOL (caused by switching over to that unlimited rate) forced the site's move to iAmerica on 1 December 1996. When the TulOK.com domain was created on 10 July 1998 the site moved again, and was renamed "Trivia World". It was renamed again when I learned there was already a Trivia World web site. The frame format was added on 7 October 1997 when I realized it was taking too long to reach the older pieces of trivia. Frames were modified on the Fourth of July 1998. With the creation of TulOK.net on 20 February 1999 the site was moved yet again, this time hopefully for good.

The facts presented here are pieces of information I've read in various books, magazines and web sites, seen on TV, heard on radio, was told in school, or figured out for myself. To the best of my knowledge, these facts are all true. But as I have no way of actually verifying the information, what should be said about these facts was probably best said by Robert L. Ripley: "Believe It or Not!"

There is also a midi file attached to the frame, so if your computer does not have the capability of playing them (as was the case at the aforementioned last job, where all we had were outdated 386s with EGA monitors) you may get an error message. Sorry about that, but I figured that as long as you're reading my pages you should have something to listen to. As for the song being played: unless I have a midi that nicely accompanies the day's trivia (such as "The Love Boat" on Valentine's Day or "Manic Monday" for trivia about the days of the week), I am simply going down my list of midi files alphabetically. Most of the time there will be no connection between the trivia and the music.

ABOUT :

I've got all the shows on tape, I know of a site containing transcriptions of the original episodes, so I figured, why not?
